Invitation

An understanding of the rhizosphere is central to many ecosystem services and related subjects including plant nutrition, plant health, ecosystem diversity, bioremediation and rehabilitation of degraded land, human pathogen ecology, ecosystem responses to climate change and water quality issues.

The aim of this conference is to provide a multidisciplinary forum for exchanging innovative ideas and methods for studying the rhizosphere, understanding its complexity and further up-scaling its functioning to better evaluate its ultimate role in ecosystem processes.

This conference follows on from the highly successful RHIZOSPHERE 2 Conference held in Montpellier (26-31 August 2007) which gathered over 570 participants from 48 countries worldwide. We aim to repeat this success in Perth and make RHIZOSPHERE conferences a regular event.

The conference will provide a stage for young and established researchers to present their work in front of a welcoming international audience in the beautiful setting of Perth in Western Australia. We therefore welcome everyone who wishes to discover the latest advances in the rhizosphere to Perth in September 2011, during the fabulous wildflower season in Western Australia.
